Since Johnny and Piki Carroll started in 1984, they understood that knowing how to make something was only part of the job. People were trusting them with their dream homes and hard-earned money. Earning that trust helped build Carrolls and still shapes how the team works today.

Over forty years, Carrolls has watched families grow, homes change and clients return. Each generation has brought its own ideas and experience while carrying forward the standards it inherited. Now, the third generation is beginning to find its place.

Some of Carrolls’ most experienced joiners first arrived as apprentices. Today, they are passing on what they have learnt, helping keep valuable skills and opportunities here in the Wairarapa.

Carrolls has called the Wairarapa home since 1984. The team lives and raises families here. Over the years, that has meant supporting local schools, sports clubs and community events, and have used their skills to help build waka that bring people together.

Richard now returns to kitchens he helped make early in his career, sometimes for clients choosing Carrolls for the second or third time. Their original warranty was simple: their name was on the door. The warranty is more formal today, but the responsibility remains.
